How about we organize some ballot measures for next year.

A 35% tax on anything that evenly remotely resembled a vape, for a rescue fund of cute abandoned cats.

And 45% additional tax on weed for housing disadvantaged homeless individuals.

And a 25% tax on colored hair dye, skinny jeans, and anal lube....

    I could go on.

Let me be clear........... I'd love for it to be thrown out.................. but there isn't a compelling reason......... one that will work in court...... as I see it.

The state gets money by imposing taxes on things.
In this case they are putting a particular tax on a group of items. .............. they also impose tariffs on imported goods, gasoline etc etc ........
The people voted for it, instead of say it being imposed on us.

Ok yes its a hindrance to the carrying out of the 2A ............ things are more expensive. But it doesn't stop or create such an obvious hurtle to overcome that a court will strike it down.

The door's open to like minded gun folks. If it is a round trip "Honest Hamid's" house of ammo is open sunrise - sunset. Place orders now for early 2025 pickup, since a widow came by the range today asking if we knew anyone interested in reloading equipment. We do > Great Kazoo :0

How does this tax apply or not to guns and ammo purchased from out of state and shipped into CO? (ie buying ammo from Brownells and shipping it to an individuals house or buying a firearm from out of state and having it shipped to a CO FFL).
    Dude, where's my can?

I don't have the answer but...

In general, a retailer is doing business in Colorado if the retailer sells, leases, or delivers tangible personal property or taxable services in Colorado or engages in any activity in Colorado in connection with the selling, leasing, or delivering of tangible personal property or taxable services for use, storage, distribution, or consumption in Colorado.

A retailer may be doing business in Colorado even if that retailer maintains no physical location in the state, but not if the retailer meets the small retailer exception described below. A retailer is doing business in Colorado if the retailer solicits business and receives orders from Colorado residents by any means whatsoever.

So where is RMGO on this? They have filed lawsuits in CO on ghost guns and hi cap mag bans, so where are they now? They beg for donations and get them, so I am wondering why they are not speaking out on this matter, i.e. whether the 6.5% tax is may be unconstitutional, i.e. violates 2A.
