Have you tried making it without a breadmaker? In my opinion, its a lot better then a breadmaker. I don't like having the hole in the bottom from the little mixer arm, and think it dries out the bread faster, and i think the loves look funny.
I make bread a couple times month. And once you get it down, it is very easy and i hardly ever mess up a batch. I use a larger Kitchen Aid (7qt)
And my batch gets me 3 loaves. From start to finish it is roughly 4-6hrs. Depending on the season, winter time usually takes a little longer since it's colder. Sunday afternoons in our house smells amazing!

I have to look at ours but it is a bigger one that works great after 20 years. The biggest thing for me is the dough cycle. It makes perfect dough. I will share my dinner rolls that never fail to impress.

    3-1/4 cup bread flour
    1 cup water
    1/4 cup sugar
    1 tsp salt
    3 Tbs butter
    3tsp yeast
    1 egg
Run dough cycle. knock down and make 12 or so balls on large sheet. Let rise for 45 or so min. brush with butter and bake 375F for10-13 min. Enjoy.
I see you running, tell me what your running from

I'll try to remember to look when I get home. Ours doesn't get used much, but it seems to work great.

We have this one. It has worked great. We dont use it much anymore since we make 4 loaves every other day. Its easier and faster in the oven.
