General info so General discussion. See Firearms Discussion forum for deeper info and lists of popular C&R firearms.

If you're unarmed, you are a victim.
Without getting into the weeds, the easy answer is a Curio And Relic is defined as any firearm manufactured over 50 years ago.
Holders of a C&R license can have those firearms shipped directly to them. Becoming relevant with the newer colorado background check rules, you may purchase C&R items directly from another individual without going through the FFL background process.
That's the quick and simple explanation.
The C&R License is intended for collectors, you are not supposed to do business with one.

Never complain; never explain.
My Feedback
Generally, with a few exceptions, any handgun, rifle, or shotgun manufactured at least 50 years prior is considered a "Curio & Relic." If it is at least 100 years old it is deemed an "antique."
C&R and antiques are exempted from the mandatory background check for private transfers, excepting at some gun shows which require such.
50 years is a lot. I mean using 2024, that means C&R goes up to ... to... Goddammit I am fukkin old.![]()
