    Default How is this holster?

So I don't actually have a holster for my CZ 75B. I was thinking of picking this up for cheap so I could use my CZ in competitions. Anything I should know about this holster? Known for catastrophic failure or anything?

Looking at it, it seems like the bulge over the trigger guard might interfere with getting a high grip up into the beaver tail.
I'm not a serious competitor and usually shoot with my M&P 40c anyway, so I don't need some special rig or anything. Comments?

I have a similar holster for my P22, and I'm not a huge fan. It's nice to have a molded holster, but draws are very difficult (locks too well, especially for competition.) Some times if my belt isn't super tight over the holster, I've actually pulled the holster from my pants with the gun still locked in. I'm not sure if the CZ model is adjustable, but that's the experience I've had with the similar model.

Hmmm, good input. I definitely have experience with pulling holsters out when I'm not using a belt (even nylon ones). Does this lock onto the belt so the belt holds it down at all? If it does it will probably be okay, as I have the tension pretty tight on my Comp tax Spartan for the Smith so I should be used to it. Also, how huge of a fan are you for the price?

On mine, the paddle goes inside the pants, with a little lip for the belt, but it does not specifically lock to the belt (doesn't thread through). For the price, it's hard to beat for a model molded holster, but you mentioned competition, and the locking mechanism (looked at it again, doesn't seem to be adjustable) I think would slow you down. If you have the opportunity they sell them at Gander and Sportsmans (I think, Gander for sure) and you may be able to find one that fits your Smith to get a feeling for it.

Hmm, I'm glad you responded and appreciate it. I know that there are other, similar cheap OWB holsters. I'm really just looking for something basic since at this point I have zero holsters that actually fit the CZ.

Edit: Now that I think about it, for just a few dollars more, I could just get the Kydex insert for the CZ for my Spartan. I should just do that instead.

Hear you there. I have a Glock 21 SF with a light and extended barrel (for a can). I've been looking for a holster for months and all I can find is a thigh rig from Safari land, but it won't fit teh extended barrel... unless I "dremmel" it! lol.
