    Default Ruger Security Six

Anyone have any experience with the Ruger Security Six? I had a friend back in the late 70's that had one, I remember liking it a lot then except for the small grip.

I'm looking to pick up a SS .357 for a car carry gun and for some reason this one is sticking in my mind. There are a fair number available at an OK price. So what do you guys think?

My dad carries one for his hunting side arm. Ive shot it several times and it shoots great. His is full size though so I cant comment on carry comfort or anything like that, but I do know it is tough and a shooter.

I have a 6" SS model. It's very accurate. Definitely one of my keepers.

I've got two. One 4" Blued and one 6" Blued, both .357. These are great revolvers. Built like tanks. Accurate. I highly recommend you add a Hogue Rubber grip though. If you get one, I have a extra one to sell. It makes the gun much more controllable and more pleasant to shoot.

I have a 4" stainless model in .357 and it's about as smooth as you can get.

The Security Six was my first pistol, 6" blued and my dad had to buy it as I was too young. Great weapons!
