I received a stop light ticket, in Boulder, sent a reply to serve me in person.
Never heard of it again. Received a stop light ticket in Lakewood. Never replied and no ramifications.

Common practice is to shorten the yellow so you can not safely stop in the reasonable distance.

People‘s Republik of N Colorado (FOCO) installed a shitload of the cameras last fall at 19 speed corridors and 6 intersections. Not sure WTH to make of em. I drive thru one of the intersections daily doing 30mph, the posted limit. I see the camera flashing at least 4 or 5 times a week capturing speeders or drivers turning on red light. I always hesitate when that flippin flash goes off. I cant imagine the revenue FOCO makes from these.

Subsequent fees for violations captured by either system may apply due to failure to respond, personal service, and default.? In the case of default, the penalty may be sent to a collection agency.

So I heard in a meeting today that a new enterprise will be formed at CDOT for safety related work. In addition to fines from these cameras, a new fee will be added to insurance premiums and registration. Not much more info. The new fees and enterprise need to be created in the legislative process and signed by the crown.

    Fvck this greedy state.

Why can't they use cameras to target car thieves.

I assume you have documentation of that?

In 30 years of doing accident reconstruction, primarily in Colorado, I have seen that exactly one time, and it was a programming error. Common practice is to provide a safe stopping time while traveling 5 mph over the limit, with a little cushion as well. There is documentation of that, and the timing of every stop light can be obtained under FOIA.
