    Default SKS Metal Refinishing

I have a few Albanian SKS's I'm in the process of refinishing. The first I sandblasted and used Brownells AlumaHyde II in flat black and was happy with the wear and finish on it. What other finishes would be good to use on that rifle ?? I've read Brownells Oxpho Blue (cream or liquid) is good. I'd prefer a matt black finish on the metal as it's a good color combination to the stock color. There is rust on the metal, but it's on the metal that fits in the stock, so it's not noticable, just needs to be cleaned real good. The stocks I got from AIM several years ago and they just need to be sanded, stained and hit with some BLO or similiar product.
I'm looking for a good indoor project to finish out winter with, haha.

I can't offer any help on what finish is best but have you considered building an electrolysis tank for removing the rust?

It was only surface rust and not much there, so I just hit it with a wire brush and oiled it for now. The rust was mainly on the lower area where the barrel and receiver join, just under the wood line when it's fitted in the stock.
