Default Anyone in the Springs use a prepaid cell phone?

I don't plan to have landline anymore, and really need to stop using the work phone for personal calls. Since I'm not very popular, it seems like a prepaid may be a good option. Was browsing the brochures at Target, and was just wondering if anyone had first-hand experience with the products. The coverage maps for some of them look a bit thin when away from I25, but I know that's not a very precise depiction.

    Thanks

The wife and I both have Tracfone. As of last week China Mart had one with the kit and double min for life for $15. I have had mine for 2 years and had very good coverage.

I'm the wrong person to ask lol. I have an iPhone with an unlimited everything plan. I'm connected to my phone like it's life support, and would die without it.

A little EMP strike would do ya some good.

Like I said mine has good coverage. I have driven from here to Oregon and back and if you look at the maps there is supposed to be very little coverage out there but mine was just fine.

I started on an AT&T free2go, and switched to T-mobile pre-paid. One $100 airtime card lasts me most of a year.

Go the TMobile route. The coverage in COS is good, I got a phone for 20 bucks from their website delivered.
Then buy a 100$ card and activate it. Your minutes will be good for a year, and they add 15% more minutes. At 364 days, simply buy another card and activate, and your minutes roll over for another year.
It's a much better deal to get prepaid now unless you like browsing the internet on the can.

You can use the discount code 'Take5' for 5 bucks off.

Not to hijack the thread, but since someone mentioned Tracfone: Anyone know how that compares to Cricket?

We had a TracFone and a Cricket for our kids. It got so that we were paying more for each of these phones than we were paying for the 2 phones on our Verizon account. My daughter ended up getting her own T-Mobile account and we finally just ended up adding my son to our Verizone account for $10 + $15(for unlimited texting - he's a teen after all).

I remember when I got mine that I believe the min lasted longer with the Tracfone. The good thing about the wallyworld deal is the phone comes with double min from the get go. For me that doesn't matter but for the wife it does.

With the $15 deal (phone/car kit/ case/ double min) 240 Min is $29 and you get coupons good for the next 2 years that add another 20-40 min for a total of 260. I know some talk allot but in my case I just need to extend the time. As long as you add before the time expires the min add on. So in my case I have 2 months left but have almost 300 min.

For what I use mine for I really like it. It costs me $80 a year is all.

+1 but this isn't a discussion about the hardware, it's about phone service and honestly, AT&T is one of the worst out there when it comes to coverage, consistency, and customer service.

I love my iPhone, but I loathe AT&T. I can't wait to switch to T-Mobile in June...
