They argue with me about why I could support anything "Republican", even ask me how I, as a professed Christian, could support such people... The last time I voted Democrat was for Bill Clinton's first term, I was young, influenced by the media, didn't really talk about it in the USAF (politics), and made my decision based on the lies that man told... Now, I vote Republican/Conservative 100% of the time, not because I support every Republican politician or Conservative idea, but because I believe in the Constitution, and I am pro 1st and 2nd amendment. Generally liberal in that I really don't give a crap who you sleep with, what your background is, or who you vote for, but I don't want you to take MY rights or those of my family away. Growing up in the late 70's and 80's, I would've believed myself to be more "moderate liberal" - but today, I'd be classified as a bible thumping, gun toting deplorable who loves 80's and 90's metal LOL!!!

wow - that's exactly me (except for the Clinton part). It drives me crazy - my folks raised me to think for myself, and my 80 year-old dad is still Superman to me, but I believe they were so indoctrinated that "Dan Rather doesn't lie" (or some such trust in the press), that they aren't open to exercising the free thought that they taught me. They supported me fervently when I joined the Marines, and Dad said "Give 'em hell" when the desert called. But they think Trump is the devil and any incursion of force he orders must be a crime. Not even open for discussion. Personally, I consider myself a patriot of the country we are meant to be, and primarily, a "freedom guy", typically adhering to the idea of individual freedom balanced with personal responsibility.

And did you know that Sirius radio has a 24/7 Metallica station, and a channel named "Ozzy's Boneyard", playing all the metal bands you remember from high school?

Sorry to hear that - sounds like our folks have been unduly influenced by CNN, the two BCs and BS (CNN, NBC, ABC, and CBS)... It's a damn shame. I was brought up to respect my elders, love my folks - it's just sad. Woke culture came after my two children (both adults now and very conservative, thankfully). I doubt neither of them would fall for a "Clinton" like I did back in the day...

Yes, Metallica 24x7 - my son actually told me about it first (before launch) - love that channel!!

We went to his vigil/memorial last night at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins.

It was very nice and was VERY well attended.

9news says 7000 people attended the "far-right wing activist" memorial. Then they went on about hundreds at the counter-event where people got to debate democratic creators and influencers.

That is good to hear, we might be visiting Brave Church soon.

My Lutheran Church didn't mention Charlie Kirk's name once last Sunday. Not during pre-service, not during the sermon, nor during the Prayers of the Church. Mentioned 'the assassination' once during the prayers though.

I heard from the senior pastor after I submitted a prayer request for his family for this Sunday...that he felt that they covered 'the assassination' last week.

I met with a junior pastor on Wednesday....I thought that the discussion went well, but am wondering after crickets since then.

I'll see about the temperature after 7am Men's bible study tomorrow/Saturday morning...
