    Default 30-30 Remington

So I have a single round of 30-30 Remington, is it the same as 30 Remington? It?s got a flat point and looks like a rimless 30-30 Winchester. Never seen a rifle chambered in 30-30 Remington. Head stamp says U.S.C.Co. 30-30 REM.

That sounds odd to me. A .30 Remington is rimless whereas the .30-.30 Winchester is rimmed.

The combination of 30-30 Rem and rimless confuses me.

I don't know where my cartridges of the world book is, but I have never heard of such a thing. Pictures of the case and headstamp would help a lot.

Side by side with the 30-30 Winchester the length of the case and oal seem the same. The Remington has no rim and the shoulder is pushed forward and has a steeper angle, reminds me of improved cartridges. Maybe it’s the same as a 30 Remington?

ETA, here is a clear answer. Again, this is very interesting!:

    THE CARTRIDGE COLLECTOR

" It doesn't make sense to me that Remington could introduce rimless versions of Winchester's cartridges as their own without some resistance from Winchester, yet Remington initially named their thirty caliber cartridge the .30-30 Remington, and not only did Winchester appear not to have a problem with this, but they produced cartridges with the .30-30 Remington headstamp from 1907 to about 1915.
