Where to buy tools these days?

I really miss Sears and their tool department. Good quality, US made and an unbeatable warranty.

The modern craftsman tools sold at Lowe's or Ace are crap, but at least the selection stinks. And the boxes are laughable.

Other than harbor freight, are there any tool stores around anymore?

I'm not necessarily in the market for anything having consolidated six tool boxes into three. But I miss killing a half hour wandering around in Sears looking at all the fun stuff I don't need.

Unfortunately there is not, I order most of my tools from amazon. I have not been able to find any one local that sells knipex.

I’ve never been there but I’m pretty sure there’s a ToolZone at 84th Ave just north of the American Furniture Warehouse.
Please leave any relevant feedback here:

    I THINK they moved.
    Check prior.

There is a second hand tool shop downtown, if feel comfortable going there.

What tools are you looking for? If it?s wrenches then Home Depot Husky brand is fine if you are not a pro. Mine have lasted and been solid for years as a garage mechanic with occasional use. New Craftsman is ok but not great. HF has some nice tools too, but also many single use tools which are great for use it and get rid of it cases.

Take a look around you, there are way too many "tools" in the USA

Not looking to buy any tools. I have boxes full of them.

I was subjected to a round of 'retail therapy' that other day and after staring at thousands of racks of clothes that will never be sold, I was longing for the days when we could split up for 30 minutes- she looks at clothes and I look at tools.

Murdochs may not have many tools but I think it could satisfy both his and her needs.
