    Welcome. I've been to Balad a few times, but never made it to Kirkuk. I was supposed to go there the first time in, but they switched us to Balad just before we went. Lots of good folks and info here!

    Welcome from a former wingnut...and youngest is an active duty JTAC.

    Never been to Kirkuk...that's probably a good thing (for me, anyway)! I have heard the nightlife and dating scenes are awesome, though!

    I enjoyed Kirkuk. It got a little nasty during the surge when we chased all the bad guys out of Baghdad.
