I'm no expert but if you've been offered a position by company B while laid off from company A the fact that company A laid you off still stands. You may want to talk to somebody who has some hard facts on the matter as these are bad times to be unemployed. In fact you may be better off by taking the offer and while trying to find something else while you're there.

if an offer is tendered even at a lower salary. no bene's for you. a job was offered and you turned it down. thats what's happening here at my state job. which it looks like i'm about to be bumped by a seniority member. 6-12 months of unemployemt here i come. PLUS the state will have to retrain me.
you quit, you are not owed anything for the 2 weeks notice. thats like trying to collect for sick days you have't taken.
w/out any form of documentation to show a hostile work enviroment, there's no basis for unemployment bene's.

I'm not being laid off-my company has decided to eliminate my department and out source the department to an outside company. We are currently waiting on the new company to either offer us a position or not to make an offer to us. If they don't give us an offer I'm eligible for unemployment. If I accept an offer I remain working.BUT what happens if they give me an offer and I decide not to accept it ? Am I eligible in that scenario to collect ? I'm weighing all my options at this point because we've been waiting all month to see what this company is going to do about us. I'm just wondering if anybody on the forum has been in a similar situation.Sorry if I highjacked this thread.

you've been offered employment. turn it down and according to UnEmp stipulation, if offered a job and you do not accept, you lose or forefit your bennies.
    been there, done that.
