Use it as an excuse to buy an AK.

Just kidding. Man that sucks - I hope you get the ammo replaced ASAP and your truck fixed. I have an '08 F-150XL (2wd...bought it back in Texas where frozen water falling from the sky is taken as a sign of the apocalypse) and its fortunately not had any problems for me.

Yep, it's from classicarms. I've bought from them before and been very pleased, but I guess somebody in the shipping dept goofed up. If they want to refund me part of the money (to save on shipping), then I'll keep you in mind before I put it up for sale on the forum.

Hahaha I thought about this, but there is no way I could justify spending the money on an AK with my girl, and then I still wouldn't have any 5.56 ammo.

Yeah, if I had a bigger budget I would have gone for an '08 or '09 F-150, but the '01 Silverado was a solid model and I am familiar with it because I grew up with one. It's got 73k miles on it and this is the first thing to ever go wrong with it.

    Thanks for the help guys

I can only +1 what everyone else said. When I was a lot tech at Medved most of the used Hummers (the ones on the lot at the time anyway) didn't have working power steering the first day they asked me to move them. I was so excited and thought they were playing a joke on me when I was trying to turn the wheel on dry concrete from a dead stop.

Just update: I'm trying to see if I can find a power steering pump from a salvage yard (Please tell me if you think this is a bad idea!). It sounds like I can probably fix it myself and I would like to save $$$ here if I can.

I just got off the phone with ClassicArms and the lady I talked to (didn't catch her name) was very sympathetic. She's trying to work out a deal with her boss for me and she's going to call me back in a bit, but it looks like I'm probably going to be selling 2k rounds of Yugo 7.62x39 to somebody local.

About 50/50 in my experiance... Look for a low mileage with lots of rear end damage.. The only thing that blows is the instument clusters are electronic anymore...
