    Default Recent C&R applicants??

    Hey all,
Looking for some statistics. Applied for my C&R back in early November, and the check was cashed (so I know they've had it). Finally called the licensing branch of BATFE a few days ago and they said was still waiting for the FBI eCheck. She said she would forward it to my investigator.

Seems like a loooong time for that to go through. I know I don't have any skeletons in the closet, so no reasonable answer I can come up with.

So, how long did your C&R (or your full type 01) take to go through?

    Thanks,
    Rob

I applied for a Type 07 FFL on 11/23. Received it on 01/25. Next step is the SOT.

Similar problem with them on a form one about a year ago, apparently the fingerprint card bounced back and forth between them and the FBI in a game of "not it" for a while before they figured it out. Finally got the stamp about 6 months into the wait... FWIW

Well, I waited 4 weeks and called again. Was given a case number and investigator to speak with. I left a message with my number for a callback.

Today copy 1 of the application shows up (mailed the day after I called) with the explanation "You have listed a business name. Please verify you want the name on the C&R. Please note that no business may be conducted with a C&R"

Well, I know that. Why is there a spot on the application for a business name then?

I put it on there (my old type 01 business name) figuring it would be easier for the online retailers to set me up with a wholesale account again.

Is this anyone's experience, or should I just remove the name?

Oh yea, the d@mn thing was in an inbox for 4 months ... finally got things moving with a phone call...that's a bummer!

Sent my completed C&R renewal form with a check in Mid-November and noted the check was cashed four days later. Just received the renewed C&R license yesterday 3/1. I did make a couple phone calls to get em moving. They seem to be in a big hurry to cash the check but zero hurry to process and furnish the renewed license.

Well, the investigator called back, and just wanted to make sure I knew I couldn't conduct business w/ C&R. I didn't query why it took 4 months to ask that detailed question.

She said I should have the license shortly after my app. returns to her desk.

So, whatever...I got bigger problems in life than worrying about the slooow government
