    Default Got my first semi-auto!

I picked up a Hi-point (i know, i know!).45 acp. God I cant wait to get to the range. Quick question, what is this "ball" ammo I have seen for sale? These have twice the amount of ammo in the box at the ssame price as the normal ammo. Any good for target practice or should i stay away? BTW I got this just for fun, i already have a good HD gun.

Ball ammo is non expanding ammo, good for target practice but may not be so good at knocking down an intruder.

I for one have not been shot by it so can not say for sure but think a 45 would put me on my butt regardless. Let me hope I never have to find out.

"Ball" is just another term for full metal jacket ammo. Ball ammo is the normal ammo. You might be looking at hollow points.

Let us know what you think of the high point after you've shot it. They are the ugliest pistols out there but i've heard they are reliable.

I had a C9 for a while. Sold it to finance my XD. Nothing bad to say about it.
For the price it makes a good truck gun. Reliable and tough.
But my God is it ugly.....

I've got a co-worker who picked up a Hi-Point .45 a few months ago. He's shot it a few times and is happy he bought it. He's also looking to get some more mainstream/big-name brand handguns but wanted the Hi-Point just because it was so cheap.
