AK Trigger Guard Screws

I'm a shooter but don't know squat about working on them. I have an AK for a while now and the builder left out two round hex head screws out of the trigger guard where it bolts to the receiver. So, I have two in there and the front two of the four are missing. Said it was a cosmetic issue and not to worry. I don't like missing screws. Can anyone help me with this. The whole is threaded and if anyone can help guide me or sale me what I need i would very much appreciate it!

when I converted my Saiga-12, I used button-head allen screws in black from Ace hardware.. they come in metric sizes, and did the trick just fine- but I wasn't trying to match other screws..

Sounds like a plan. Do you know they are metric for sure. I have four and only two installed as that is the way I got it. They are round top with hex head. I guess I could pull one and take it with me, and if I find a fit and may need four to match that would do! I'll see what I can come up with. Like you avitar! I have a true 1970 1/2 Z28 now for 30 years. Just bought a 79 Elcamino that has the birth motor and tranny that came with it after all these years from my High School bud! never decked so numbers are still visable. Thanks for the info bro

They should be riveted instead of screwed. Screws are a bad way of trying to hold together an AK. Granted the reciever is fairly stiff in the T.G. area but it just is not the way they are built.

From the factory, the Saiga TG & selector stop was spot-welded... but then again, they're not a true AK, but based on the AK design..

I also used screws because it was quick to test-fit, and could always go to rivets after finishing the TG- I made my own TG, and it's still bare.. but in the meantime, It shoots!

Unfortunately, my Charger doesn't look like my avatar yet- it's what I'd like mine to look like when I finish it (it needs a front clip, and a rear quarter panel).. 4 kids have a way of occupying your time... I got the Charger in Alaska when I was 17 (1987).. it's a 383 4bbl with a 4-speed (Factory Hurst shifter) it's not #s matching, so I plan to do it as a resto-mod, similar to the one in the picture, which is Mr. Angry's... inspiration:
