Default I need help settling something

In the last few days I have been talking to some folks about AR's. I am really interested in them, and hope to be getting one soon.

So in conversation I have heard different things about the laws of owning, posessing, carrying and magazine capacity of AR's in DENVER CITY LIMITS.

Is there a law AGAINST AR's in Denver city limits, or not? And what about magazine size, what capacity can you have.

I do live in Denver city, Denver county

    Thanks as always folks

I dont live in Denver city limits but I know no high cap mags are allowed. You can have them if you are just traveling through the city but not if you live there. Somebody more informed than me will chime in I am sure. Stuart you know everything whats the law? J/K lol

    Check out www.rmgo.org

There is a capacity ban on magazines of 21 rounds or more. Even ifyour passing through Denver, and have a 30 round mag, you get pulled over, problems can arise. Just get the 20 round pmags for your AR and you will be fine. DO not chamber a round and then add that 21st round or it can be a hassle for you.

Id move out of the C&C of Denver if i were you. YMMV

    Default A link

The Rocky Mountain Gun Owners has a FAQ on Colorado gun laws here-
    http://www.rmgo.org/faq/#AssaultWeapons

It has a section in the assault gun area that specifically addresses Denver. It has a link a copy of the actual law there also.

Thanks guys, I read through it, and it looks to be ok, but there seems to be some gray area.

    Thanks for the info!

You shouldn't have a round chambered in any long gun while you are transporting it no matter where you are though, because that is illegal.

Huge +1 for that. It is entirely ok to have a magazine in any rifle as long as NO ROUND IS IN THE CHAMBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
