There's a lot of entirely US made guns out there.

Kimber, Kahr, Some Sigs, Some Berettas, Springfield 1911s (not the XDs though), Para Ordnance are now made in FLA, Most AR15s are American made (in fact I don't know of an AR import), Rugers are all US made, same with most S&Ws.

I still fail to see the point of buying American Made when you're supporting anti-American labor unions like the UAW.

    EDIT
Look here http://www.americansworking.com/guns.html (although thats a pretty incomplete list)

DSA will sell you a US made FAL. I found out the other day that they are now making there own bolts. One of the last items that had always been surplus or imported.

Not to go off subject, but I just don't believe in rewarding a company because they're US based. I want the best value... Quality divided by Price. I'd love it if they are an American company, but I'm not going to limit my search to them. If an American company isn't making the best product, then supporting them means they won't be forced to innovate.

Same thing with the car company bailouts... The more the unions and the "Existing Methods" are kept afloat, the less buyers will look at the new upstarts. Here's an American made car I can't wait to buy for a daily driver: http://aptera.com/ It'll go great in the garage next to my Jeep that almost has enough clearance to fit this underneath.

If the world was one big free market then I agree. Buy the best product. But it's that way. I feel like we're in fight for our way of life. So screw the world. I'm buying American.

The OP was talking about cars too ... if you read the rest of my posts in this thread I make the point that at least American gun manufacturers aren't that bad.
