Can I have my CCW at the convention center. I did a small search but couldn't find info on their security measures. I can't remember if they have metal detecters etc...TIA

I believe they have signs posted on all doors.
If so they do not need metal detectors.
Is the convention center where you go to watch plays and the orchestra? If so, they just have ticket checkers, but no metal detectors that I remember. Sorry if I'm thinking of the wrong place.
What happens when you get caught carrying(You wouldn't be concealing well if caught) with signs posted "no firearms", do you get asked to leave? IIRC you only get a tresspassing ticket when asked to leave and you don't comply?

They probably call the police. I imagine that if you leave before the police get there that nothing happens.
I'm just assuming though, because I don't know.
The Colorado Convention Center is owned by the city of Denver. Therefore they cannot legally prohibit concealed carry per the CRS unless all entrances have metal detectors with guards and the oppotunity to store your weapon while inside.
Carrying a firearm, openly or concealed, on private property which is posted "no firearms" would (if detected and prosecuted) get charged under third degree criminal trespass, which is a Class 1 Petty Offense.
As noted above, on public property, only open carry may be prohibited with just signage - while concealed carry can only be prohibited with screening equipment and providing storage.Petty Offenses in Colorado – Laws & Penalties
Petty offenses are the least serious of criminal charges, but still carry the potential for jail time and a mark on your criminal record.
Class 1 Petty offenses carry a potential sentence of 6 months in jail and fines up to $500.
Class 2 Petty offenses are sentenced according to the charge. This means that if you are charged with a Class 2 petty offense, the law concerning that particular offense will dictate your sentence. Maximum punishments are typically less than that of class 1 petty offenses.
