Default Well I did a dumb thing

I watched the opening ceremony of the olympics.

    holy shit.

    A thousand dancing indians?

A roundfaced live action astroboy lookalike twirling about on wires to joni mitchell?

A gaggle of coked out fiddle players and goth tap dancer?

A flannel wearing, shitty poetry spouting fatbody that looked like uncle buck's retarded little brother?

    A medusa-fro'd banshee squealing opera?

A old codger babbling in french for ten minutes?

Olympic torches that look like joints rolled by blind amputees with parkinson's?

A grand finale that didn't work, then wasn't even the finale because gretzky had to go outside to light the REAL flame?

    KD fucking lang?

No offense to any canadians here, but is everyone up there bloody gay?

The only things that made it bearable were the closeups of the hot women in the audience and nelly furtado's bodacious ass.

I watched because I thought they might mention Terry Fox.

Maybe they did, but I missed it switching to other channels to preserve my sanity.

That whole show was CHARLIE FOXTROT.

    (That stands for canada fails)

I have relearned why I always just catch the highlights on youtube.

They want to promote peace, love and sportsmanship, but hearing that much joni mitchell just makes me want to kill something. ugh. never again.

Terry Foxs mom carried out the Olympic flag.
"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

canada is gay. plain and simple. I think of it like california. I love the landscape of most of it, but the politics are fucked up, and a lot of the people are.

I love the olmypics though, very cool to watch the best from around the world compete. pretty amazing to watch.

They should move women's beach volleyball (still in bikinis, mind you) to the winter olympics. I'd watch.
