Well, YEAH! We are talking about pilots here. And the inmates (I mean, pilots) do run the asylum. Shiny new plane near pilots = bright light near moths.

The current admin axed the F-22 due to its $146million/fly away unit cost. Instead we opted for a single engined smaller F-35 which so far costs around $214million /unit. Some of our allies are growing impatient over the delays and cost increases.

Def. Sec. Gates was the one pushing hard to axe that last 12 planes. Congress wanted to keep building them, since they (Strategically) have parts built in something like 46 states.

you and me both! If I ever went in, that is the plane I would want! they may not be fast but blasting a 30mm cannon at low level is my kind of flying
