I honestly believe she is a NICE person, but I also believe that the "aw-shucks" stuff we see is pure put-on to lure folks into under-estimating her.

Well fellas, that is the beauty of our system of government. If you like Sarah Palin, vote for her if she chooses to run. If you don't like her, vote for someone else. Granted, she would be a lot better than most anybody the Dems might nominate, but she would not be my first choice if the decision was entirely mine.

Then we won't have to say pretty please to terrorists anymore to get information. I think Bush and Cheney had the right idea on that one. While we're at it, how bout a little profiling so we can actually search the likely suspects instead of letting them pass while strip searching someone's 80 year old grandmother to be PC...

I totally agree for the primaries. but as for the actual election, it seems to me a 3rd party vote is a wasted vote and where we need to add a few extra percentage points for the win.

I thought about this a little more, and the real problem I have with Sarah Palin is the same problem that the left had with Bush. I don't want to elect someone who I think is less smart than I am. I'm certainly no genius, but I just feel like I'm smarter than Palin. Sure, she'd probably be a fantastic neighbor, but I don't necessarily want her in office.

In the interest of full disclosure I like Sarah Palin but not sure I vote for her as President. That being said she does have some impressive accomplishments from her two terms as the Mayor of Wasilla and her short stint as governor of Alaska. During that time she took on corrupt career politicians, both democrats and republicans.

Regardless of the trash the media spews about her, she is basically a concerned citizen who got involved in local politics and had the guts to stand up for what she believed in.

Here are some of her accomplishments that I found in Wikipedia.

Mayor of Wasilla
Motivated by concerns that revenue from a new Wasilla sales tax would not be spent wisely, Palin ran for mayor of Wasilla in 1996, defeating incumbent mayor John Stein


During her first year in office, Palin kept a jar with the names of Wasilla residents on her desk. Once a week, she pulled a name from it and picked up the phone; she would ask: "How's the city doing?"

Using income generated by a 2% sales tax that had been approved by Wasilla voters in October 1992, Palin cut property taxes by 75% and eliminated personal property and business inventory taxes.



Using municipal bonds, she made improvements to the roads and sewers, and increased funding to the Police Department. She also oversaw new bike paths and procured funding for storm-water treatment to protect freshwater resources. At the same time, the city reduced spending on the town museum and stopped construction of a new library and city hall.

In 2008, Wasilla's current mayor credited Palin's 75 percent property tax cuts and infrastructure improvements with bringing big box stores" and 50,000 shoppers per day to Wasilla. A local gun store owner said Palin made the town "more of a community ... It's no longer a little strip town that you can blow through in a heartbeat." At the conclusion of Palin's tenure as mayor in 2002, the city had about 6,300 residents.



Palin frequently broke with the state Republican establishment. For example, she endorsed Sean Parnell's bid to unseat the state's longtime at-large U.S. Representative, Don Young, and she publicly challenged then-Senator Ted Stevens to come clean about the federal investigation into his financial dealings.

Governor of Alaska
In August 2008, Palin signed a bill authorizing the State of Alaska to award TransCanada Pipelines—the sole bidder to meet the state's requirements—a license to build and operate a pipeline to transport natural gas from the North Slope to the Continental United States through Canada. The governor also pledged $500 million in seed money to support the project. It is estimated that the project will cost $26 billion. Newsweek described the project as "the principal achievement of Sarah Palin's term as Alaska's governor.

Good information. I was already aware of most, but having it succinctly put was beneficial.
I don't personally agree with everything Palin says, but can't find much to criticize either. I really like that she has seemed to buck the system instead of just being a corrupt player like most.
Guessing she would discard the czars if given the opportunity.
