    Default Drop in Triggers ?

I'm thinking of putting a Timney 3 lb. trigger in my carbine. Any experiences, thoughts,or other recommendations ? Seems like a good upgrade but a little pricey-$200. Thanks for feedback.

going to a lighter trigger spring workd for me. I have/had JP trigger setup. while it was nice on commercial ammo. i ran into some (minor) cases of missfire, when using miltary/nato headstamped ammo( S.A. Radway, Wolff etc)
kept the trigger and went back to a stock hammer and spring. i did some polishing and smoothing out of the trigger contact areas too
    YMMV

I have used the Timney in an AR 10 as well as a couple of 15's. Not really a drop in though, You have to "time" the disconnector which involves about an hour of assemble/whittle/assemble etc to get the correct timing.
If your trigger is clean on the break try just swapping the springs first.
    Well worth the effort though.
Nice addition to any AR you want to get the best accuracy from.

Sometimes you can bring the trigger pull down to as little as 4 lbs just by swapping different triggers/hammers around and changing the spring to a lighter one also. Do be careful if you do any work on the engagement areas, though, as they are only hardened on the surface and it's easy to break through that layer. This can cause quick wear followed by doubling or worse. I didn't mess with mine at all except to swap components and check the pull weight until I got it close to what I wanted.

There was a good review of the ATC AR Gold trigger in a recent Guns and Ammo. It is a drop in trigger. But it is ~$280.

Anyone have experience with the JP springs package? It looks interesting but...

It is what you are looking for. If you want somewhat better trigger than AR-15 original, go for it.

However, for $200 you get much better adjustable triggers, but you have to install and fine tune them for yourself. Or let someone else tune it.

I like 1-stage triggers, mainly Jard and JP (JP with the speed hammer). 2-stage triggers, Jewell or Jard.

I have the AR gold in my 3 gun rifle and I really like it. It has a super short reset almost like a 1911, you can make very fast 2nd shots.

I also have the RRA 2stage in a few of my AR's and those work very well too.

I did exactly that on mine, and it's fantastic. Proceed at best possible speed.
