I'm having some serious spy ware problems. I clicked on a link from a site that doesn't mess with the computer, and I instantly got a bad bug. This one sucks balls and is tough. Hopefully I can have it off by tonight.
Otherwise, some Rum and coke sounds nice.
I would download both AdAware and Spybot to rid yourself of the spyware.
Also clear al of your cookies, and disable 3rd party cookies- they are the no 1 source of spyware.
Best program out there for spyware is Malware Bytes. Go to malwarebytes.org and download the free version. It will pretty much get rid of anything.
It is a program that pretends to be a spyware, so any time you open something up, it pops up and says it is spam. I already have Malwarebytes but I can't get it to run. I've already googled the bug and have some instructions of how to get rid of it (basically run malwarebytes) but malware won't even run. Can I down load Malware onto a flash card and then run it from the flash card instead?
It sucks because my lady always visits D listed, which is like a celebrity gossip site. D Listed is pretty solid and has never caused a problem. She told me to look at a picture and left the room. I sat down, didn't know what she wanted me to see, clicked a link that website suggested and...instant problems. So frustrating.
Start your PC in safe mode then run Malware Bytes.

Re-name the MalwareBytes executeable (mbam-setup.exe) to something different, this has to be done when the file is being downloaded. When you attempt to re-download mbam-setup.exe, rename it anything else when you are prompted to save the file to you machine. The Trojan is locking to block mbam-setup.exe, so if the same program is name for example "test.exe" it should run without issue.
Remember the first one is free...
PS: without seeing the machine i am guessing that this is Windows Antivirus 2009 (trojan) or related
