Don't remember saying I flat out hate rim fire, a pea shooter club would be okay with me.

Which rifle section? The only section clearly labeled "Rifle" is the Military Rifle section. There isn't a "Rifle" section in the AR-15 specific area, and that wouldn't be the appropriate area for anything other than rimfire AR's anyhow. Hunting could apply, but only for hunting-related rimfire stuff. Military rifles could apply, but once again clearly only to military-related rimfire stuff like surplus training rifles.

Is it that you prefer a larger amount of information in fewer areas? To me that just means you have to sift through more to find specific items. I don't think there should be a specific area for everything, but rimfires are widespread and almost ubiquitous to shooting. So for the items other than military surplus rimfires, hunting issues involving rimfires, handguns, and rimfire AR's, where would you suggest? We have an area for polymer handguns. Why can't we just use the handgun section? We have an area for 7.62x39 firearms; do we need that? Same with 10mm and Curios and Relics. I'm not trying to beat on anyone; I'm only trying to illustrate my point. Some compartmentalization is for organizational purposes and to encourage the subject.

Don't listen to this guys. One time at a shoot I asked him if he'd like to check out a Ruger Mark II I had, and he got so angry he vomited.

That's my point. If you're searching for something specific, you're better off doing an actual search as opposed to checking any number of posts that may not relate well to it's subject title. (Better off using Google search "site:www.co-ar15.com termX" than vBulletin's search though. ) For your daily reading, less subforums are better. The more specific your subject, the more likely that subforum will get less posts, then only get rare peeking in, and eventually become an unvisited graveyard.

For specific points, yes, I don't see any real reason to have both Handgun and Polymer Pistol section. Neither has a high posting volume that would need to be separate - one goes back 3 months on the first page, the other more like 6-7. You are right on the Military Rifles section (pays not to glance at things, I suppose ) but it's under Firearms Discussion, not the AR-15 Specific section. Strictly speaking, I guess there's nowhere appropriate there for non-military, non-rimfire rifles, so loosening things up into simply "Rifle" would be simpler overall.

I'm not saying to change the whole forum setup, just that it's easier to find things and follow threads the less complicated and specific it is, that's all.

The vomit was from that weird growth you had coming from your neck.
