Default Little League Says No to Gun Store Sponsor

I say "yes" to both Constitution Arms and Cluck-U Chicken's scantily clad women and "Large Breasts, Juicy Thighs, Luscious Legs."

Didn't have these debates when I was kid, I'd just where what they gave me anyway.

A New Jersey man is upset that a baseball league has rejected his gun store as a Little League team sponsor, MyFoxNY.com reported. Matthew Carmel's son played in the South Orange-Maplewood Baseball League last year and he wanted to sponsor a team in the coming season. A sponsorship costs $300.

The league committee rejected his offer, and Carmel thinks that it is because his business happens to be a gun store called Constitution Arms.
"It is fairly clear that someone has a problem with firearms," he told MyFoxNY.com.

Carmel says what really bothers him is that, while he was rejected, other approved league sponsors appear questionable, including businesses that sell or serve tobacco and alcohol. He told MyFoxNY.com that a restaurant called Cluck-U Chicken even got the OK. Carmel says the very name is a play on profanity. And he says on a recent visit to the store there was a shirt displayed at the cash register with a scantily clad women with the words "Large Breasts, Juicy Thighs, Luscious Legs."

I'm not too surprised. PC'ness runs rampant in outfits like that. But only insofar as guns are concerned. Must be nice to be able to pick and choose what you want to be PC about. No hypocrisy there......

Good for Constitutional Arms! They are getting tons of FREE publicity because of the rejection and not a penny out of pocket! GREAT JOB!

    Good for him!

The chicken slogan is funny too.

I would have loved to have a gun store on my baseball jersey... even the chicken store for that matter.

I posted this on one of my car boards I post on. One of my favorite members lives in Jersey and whenever something happens over there, I ask him if he's heard about it. He reads the local boards all the time to watch the people bitch. Here are his responses.

Dude, I live in this town. THis has been HUGE news all day. I played in the league when I was a kid ( i know it wasn't cal ripken, it was most likely babe ruth). This is Maplewood , NJ the same town that BANNED xmas music at winter concerts held at district schools but has a gospel choir at the highschool (which practices and performs during school hours).

here's a link to my town's message board. I love all of the faux outrage associated with this guy. I WISH i had kids so I could have them play on this guy's team. Hell since he didn't get the sponsorship, I'd throw him a few bucks for kid sized shirts with his company name and logo on them (again provided I had kids)

20-30 years ago, my hometown was an awesome place to live. About 15 years ago many many douchey and pretentious brooklynites (and other new yorkers) moved in. Lots of talk about how "excepting" and "diverse" maplewood and south orange are , provided you act talk and share the same political views as everyone else.
hahaha. I have to take "time outs" from the website. People bitch moan and complain about everything. The OUTRAGE about the pool snackbar serving HOT DOGS almost made me want to end it all!

that is funny about the local guy wanting to end it all about the hot dogs at the pool! I am just amazed at how people over-react to things they don't understand.
I don't see what the problem the people have with their team getting sponsored, no matter where it is from
