Default "The Chart" - Good info for AR builders and Buyers

This chart is sure to get some hot threads going back and forth. Not intended to start fights over who's best or worst, just lots of good AR info from a lot of manufacturers.

The chart says all hail the Colt!

I like colt... but I like LMT and RRA better.

    Either way good info.

Did anybody ever catch the episode of GI Factory where FN was making all of Colt's M4's and M16's?? Did you see the lady bending the barrels to straighten them after rifling with an arbor press before assembly? This kinda made "Colt" fall from any tier in my mind. They were never top in my "chart" because Colt is so anti private citizen owning firearms.

In my mind the tier chart was only made so that the people who bought the top tier brand feel better about their expensive purchase.

That said, their are some valid point in the chart, but it is not the end all be all. For example, manufacturers' change place on the chart depending on their govnt contracts. Moving up only because they get a contract? How does that change their manufacturing or assemble practices??

    Want another example?
Did you know there are 4, yes 4 Mil-Spec ways to stake a carrier? Also, if you don't have a selector switch you don't have a mil-spec gun.
I say lets all remove the warning labels and let nature take its course.

Pretty much sums up my opinion on the whole thing...

IMO, Colt has never been in the top 2 tiers because up until recently, half of the components were out of spec. Receiver holes, fire control group pins, etc...

Still dont understand why Colt commands such a price point, when companies like Spikes and RRA are of similar quality...

Wow...I guess my Bushmaster/Del-Ton hybrid isn't even worth the metal it's made of and is going to fall to pieces as soon as I zero it.
