Default newbe question about AR 15

just got a Daniel Defense XV (without the omega rail) and was wondering how easy it is to put a rail on the bottom of the hand guard just long enough for a bi pod, and foregrip? and about how much it would cost just for the rail and hardware its self?

If it has the standard handguards, you can get a rail for maybe $15 or so...very easy install, just bolts to the bottom.

check out aimsurplus.com and in the AR accessories they should have one in there.

Short answer,, easy enough.. Just make sure the screws don't strip out..

As far as cost,, Depending on size, $15-$30..

Yeah, don't overtorque the screws. Use a tiny bit of blue loctite on the screws to keep them from backing out.

I have a VFG and aluminum bolt-on rail I don't want or need. Give me a check for $15 made out to the Intermountain Humane Society or IMHS (our local rescue) and it's yours.

But you gotta come get it.

I'll give the OP a chance to claim it. Otherwise, if I don't hear from him by tomorrow, whoever wants it can have it.

Make it a check for $20 to IMHS and I'll pick up the postage to whoever claims it.

And remember, it'll be tax deductable!
