No I am rarely speeding in excess of 4 or 5 mph but usually trying to keep it at mark.

    I've never got a ticket I didn't deserve*, and I didn't get a few I did.

    * one can dispute the sensibility of a speeding ticket in the middle of nowhere in Wyoming though

A few years ago, I found myself on a road in Montana, Just after they had changed all the speed limit signs to "Reasonable and Prudent." All I could think of was "Damn, I wish I had the Camaro" Just wasn't the same in the Blazer...

KevDen....(question for you) How do you decide if you're going to light someone up for "Following to close behind?" That's my biggest peve about driving, I'm doing 68 in the right lane, and some buttsmeller wants to get so close my exhaust goes straight in his face. Times so close I can't even see their headlights. I'd love to see people pulled over for that. I saw 3 accidents in 48 hours on HWY 36 and all appeared to be for that reason.

No one should ever be tailgating in the right lane, ever. I'm much more likely to brake check someone who is tailgating me when I'm in the right or middle lane and can easily be passed.

I've gotten three I've deserved. I've gotten one I didn't, and that one still irritates me just because of how it happened. And I've gotten a warning on two occasions, one of which I believe I deserved a ticket.
I got hit as a kid too, but not in a school zone. I was riding my bike across a crosswalk and a lady ran the stop sign. She was nice enough and loaded me up and took me home, though.
I do agree, school zones are not the places to speed. If I'm careful anywhere, it's there. I also am very careful when I'm in residential neighborhoods, even more so when I see any kids running around. I've had 'em pop out from behind cars too many times not to be.

I got pulled over outside a little town called Lusk out in East Wyoming.
We took a little vacation to visit Mt. Rushmore and The Crazyhorse Monument.
Got clocked at 73 in a 65. The trooper spun around in his Charger and caught up quick.
He saw the Glock sticker on the rear window and asked about guns in the car. Of course I explained thats why it was there and Im glad it worked.(Need to find a AK DRACO sticker as well, had that slung behind the seat!!!!!)
He did the usual and went back to the Charger....you know the waiting is the hard part.
My drivers license is expired but good w/ a Mil ID card and my printout of car insurance EXPIRED the day before!! NO LIE.
My son was asleep under a blanket in the backseat with no buckle but did not move a bit and he never knew he was there!!
Well the trooper comes back and explains the laws of Wyoming regarding Drivers License and ask me if I like the Glocks. I told him I was more of a Springfield guy and he says he wishes he could afford one!!
He let me off with a warning............BUT MY WIFE DID NOT FOR THE WHOLE TRIP!!!!
He thanked me for my service and we where on our way.
If you are ever in Lusk when you get to the T intersection to head North make a little turn to the right and head down the street to the Diner near the truck stop.Excellent food and really friendly service. Even gave the wife a rose for Mothersday.
Gas is a few cents cheaper at the truck stop to.
I sent him some Army stickers and a few Army souvenirs the following week to thank him for HIS service.

If you have not been to South Dakota to see these monuments it is a must!!!
We had a great time staying at the KOA camp ground cabins near Hill City!!

If anyone is planning on going anytime soon let me know and I can let you know what you can expect and what to see. Oh and eat lots of Buffalo when you can!!
    Cheers, Rico

I get away with WAY too much. Last ticket was Aug '07. Every time I've driven my old Mustang further than 6 miles I've gone triple digits. Now with the Mustang's replacement I've most recently gone through Morrison PD's usual speed trap at 86 in a 45, just got a friendly wave. Last week the Troopers had a speed trap at 470 & Bowles, got the friendly wave for 15 over. Damn I love my P71 Crown Vic. Still miss the special service pursuit Mustang.

Hehe... Both my grandparents lived in Lusk till their deaths or old home move. I spent a lot of time there as a kid. Funny that some people know of it. Its definately out of the way and a hole in the wall.
