    Default PMAG question

Got my first PMAGS, not sure I like them over the GI mags yet? I have 7 total, 4 are dated 12/09 and drop free, 3 are dated 8/09 and dont drop free. Is there a reason they changed so recently or is it a fluke? Thanks.

The older ones hung up in certain rifles but I don't remember which ones.I'm using nothing but P-Mags with my Stags and have had no problems at all. Some of mine are the first ones made.
Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to Fight, he'll just kill you.

Same with my Stag righty.. only problems I'm having is with the 20rd Mags.. the bolt won't lock back on the last round fired, the second one I received from Magpul. Never been an issue with any of my 30rd PMAG's

Personally use nothing but PMAG, partially because they are a CO company and another because I find them to work the best. They have changed their design since the early models. The easiest way ive found to tell the difference is the older version has the black floor plate and the newer ones have a gray floorplate. Only issue was one out of 10 that would not seat when loaded. Simply called them and told them the issue and got another one shipped with no questions asked. Wonderful company with exceptional products!

I love the PMAGs. I have 4 and that is what I have been using exclusively. I just got a couple H&K stainless steal mags and they seem to have a better follower. PMAGs have a good follower too, just not as good.

I even went to Magpul once to pick some up. As I remember, Erie CO. It's cool that such a popular AR15 component manufacturer is located here. I have a butt stock, grip and trigger guard from them.

I just held an ACR (MASADA) yesterday at 5280! Wow, what a rifle! They do not have the collapsible butt stock. They claim they are not shipping yet. Good thing, otherwise I may have done the irresponsible thing and bought one.

I am not sure if I have the "newer" style PMAGs or not. I purchased them about a year ago and some have a window, others do not. The ones that do not look identical otherwise. They do not bind or anything in my S&W M&P15 AR-15.

If the follower is gray they are new Rev M, if not they are the older one.

When I first got my AR I bought 4 different mags. The Pmag was one of the ones that didnt drop free. The steel GI mags worked the best. SO I bought a truck load of them. They all drop free and work great

Pmags are strong as hell and can take a beating. not to mention they look great. I don't like the original steel mags cause technically they were made to be disposable by the military and easily can be beat up pretty good. Magpul is widely becoming pretty popular in the AR community also. If you get the new Pmag RevM mags you will be fine.

Where is the least expensive place to buy the new Pmags?
