    Default McMillan stock install questions

Does anyone have any experience with McMillan stocks? I have purchased a A3-5 for my precision .308 and have read many mixed reviews on if I should bed the action or pillar and bed.

It seems that McMillan only suggests bedding their stocks now? Pillars can be installed but it doesn't seem that common place.

Would it be best to just glass pillar and bed the stock instead of installing aluminum pillars and then bedding?

Anyone know of a good local smith that works on precision rifles?

    Thanks to any input.

The bedding material going to be used is Devcon aluminum epoxy. Should I pillar using the epoxy material (drill holes and fill with epoxy) or insert aluminum pillars and skim coat bed them.

I had heard that the McMillan glass is so dense compressive forces are not a worry so pillars are not necessary.

    Thanks
