Absolutely agree, make your own buttermilk pancakes from scratch! search the web for Alton Brown's recipe, it includes making your own "quick mix" from scratch and you wont' be disappointed.

I HATE maple syrup!
I agree with you on the Bisquick eval, but I enjoy Buckwheat pancakes - about once every 5 - 10 years.

Hersheys Kisses? That's some serious chocolate. I usually use chocolate chips - occasionally put them in my pancakes and my waffles.
