I think the tracks started out near the road and went to the truck, persont then turned around and went out in the same tracks. Probably some one looking to break into the house or the vehicle and you scared them away.

Too bad the prints were partially filled back in by additional snow and possibly eroded by wind.

If I were to guess, I'd say a large elk or a moose. I know it appears the tracks were left by some type of large biped, but they don't appear to be long enough individual tracks to be Bill, the Sasquatch.

Bill is a Sasquatch who alledgedly inhabits an area around Tarryall. I know a guy who swears this is true...

I doubt they are elk tracks or other 4 legged large game for several reasons...

But if your measurements are correct then the "thing" has a stride of 5 feet and can easily reach up 8 feet? (Make sure "Bill" is still in his cage)...

Any top-shot pics of the prints? All the ones posted are from angles.

I like the Giant Rocky Mountain Monkey theory... but I'm more inclined to rabbit, squirrel, etc hoping as previous posted....

My guess would be a large animal, deer or elk or something similar.

Reasoning: I haven't met a person who could walk with 5 foot strides. Perhaps if they were running, they could get 5 foot strides. But there looks to be about a foot of snow, and have you ever tried running in a foot of snow? It's not easy, and there would be lots of "skid" marks before/after someone plants the foot as they do not have a completely vertical done and up step.

I am discounting a rabbit as they usually can't jump 5 feet (that I am aware of).

But set a booby trap. See what comes of it!

Either a) you'll get your neighbor or some random person stuck. Or b) you'll either be having rabbit or elk for dinner!

Often times, animals (especially cats) will take the same path through an area every time, which would explain why it went over the snow drift.

Pretty freaky! Did they look like shoe/boot prints, with a visible sole pattern? Or did they look like feet? Hooves?

Time to install a video system or a game camera. Alarm system wouldn't hurt either. Something was intruding on your domicile.
