    I have a single shot .410, will that be ok for it?

    Nope, You'll need a shotgun that can hold a least two shell at a time. The Sporting Clay course requires two shots per throw (true pairs and or report pairs) But if you want to just come out and shoot Trap you can use a single shot. You can rent a shotgun at the range if you want.
