Do I think my mother would be offended? No idea. Knowing my mother, I would imagine her reaction would be indifference. She's not very arty.

Will you see me there? I don't know, when are you going to be there? It closes in a couple of days so I probably won't be able to make it, but if you want to meet up... My mother won't be able to attend though, she lives 4000 miles away.

Thanks for the link that contains a better description of the show. Matt Barton's piece sounds (and looks) boring. Claire Rau's, I would go and see. Twenty feet of carved wooden chain, that's impressive work. I'm not sure I see anything promoting violence against women, though. I remember that in The Bacchae it was the men who suffered all the violence.
Excellent answer.
The thread was intended to identify and illustrate falsehoods that are perpetuated by the left... and or politicians that facilitate those misrepresentations.
Art?
Ahhh...
We all have our own perceptions of art.
However...
My specific use of this example was to illustrate the use of art, by the left, to dehumanize women.
Addditionally, these tactics are used to decriminalize certain behaviors in order to being about the normality of those behaviors.
Just as the thread topic describes:
Lies, damned lies and statistics.
I can cite a varitey of these tactics that have been used - to normalize behaviors - that you would certainly be familar with...
Are you going to attend this show?
I may.. just to see if I am wrong.
I just might be.
(Please accept my apologies for referencing your maternal unit - was not my intention to denigrate or disparage in that respect).
