This came up a few years ago on another site. Getting a badge like this is just a sure fire way to look like a douche bag and flirt with impersonating an officer.

Some people will say that if you clip this on your belt next to your gun, if anyone ever sees your gun, they're likely to see the badge and think you're a cop. Sounds like impersonating to me. It also opens you up to having people come to you for help with things you have no business in.

I say no way in hell should anyone wear one of those. That is my personal opinion on the issue.
I concur 110%. Especially on the risking an impersonation charge.

The ONLY use I can see for this would be to wear while open carrying, but only if you have a CCW. For the average business owner who doesn't know whether open carry is allowed, having a badge that accurately references your 'license to carry' might well make them comfortable with it. No way is this a police impersonation problem in and of itself, as it very clearly says what it is. The idea that because cops usually wear badges that no one else can wear a badge without committing a crime is illogical and would never hold up. As long as the badge wording is accurate and does not imply you are a cop, there is no problem.

The badge shouldn't have an eagle, or any other figures, shapes, or symbols, that are very close to police badges.

+1.... but they shouldn't have the badges to begin with.

A badge in any form implies LE. Unless it is made of plastic and on a 5 yr old, it represents (or misrepresents) someone paid and authorized to wear one.
