This one is pretty hard to believe.

If, in fact, an ampleamps crew was already on scene administering aid, I could see the deputy's point.

However, with the sheriff saying later the ambulance crew arrived after the fire crew, that doesn't make sense. Coupled with the fact the ambulance crew later called the fire crew to return to assist with care, I'd say the deputy screwed the pooch.

I'd be pissed, too.

We (the PD) always messed with the fire guys and vice-versa. But it was always good natured fun. The fire guys were the first to step up and help an officer when help was needed. Unless they were sleeping at the fire house....
