    Default 2011 -- 100 year anniversary of the 1911

So, I just realized next year will be the 100th anniversary of the Colt Model 1911. How many 100th Anniversary editions do you think are going to be put out? Kimber, all those 1911 guys? I wonder if there will be any value in it.

I should probably get one sooner or later.

While I agree that the 1911 is a fine firearm, I can't say that I'd be particularly inclined to purchase a "100th Anniversary" model, just because it's a "100th Anniversary" model.

I plan to pick up a 100th anniversary edition from some manufacturer. Likely a Springfield.

You don't think there would be any appreciation bump in it's value? Not really sure if it's worth owning a gun strictly for appreciation in value, I'd like to shoot them.

It depends on how many of them they make. There will probably be 500,000 of them.

To buy anything but a Colt for the 100th is just wrong!

Kimber has already released their Centenial edition. I'm hoping that Colt will release a few different grades; I won't buy a high grade that I won't shoot.
