A member brought me a DPMS Panther in .308. It had previously been done in what I was told was a Brownells product. I'd never seen such a poorly done job before. It looked as if it had been applied with a brush. This is the result of my work. This rifle was done in Krylon, as the owner was planning to sell it anyway.

The Krlyon Camo is pretty tough stuff. You can't throw it down your driveway and expect it to hold up, but it does a pretty good job.

Edited to add: When you see pictures of troops and contractors overseas with painted rifles, it is often Krylon. That should give you an idea of it's durability.

I have to agree with Krylon being good and durable. I flat black all of my weight equipment/weight plates. These are constantly being banged around, dropped and it has held up very well for two years now.

Poly pistols really need to be done in Duracoat. The punishment on handguns tends to be more, and I don't believe that the Krylon would work well. Also, handguns would do better with an airbrush.

So yes, I could do a poly pistol, it just needs to not be Krylon.

Any guestimate on a OD or FDE Duracoat on something like a Glock 23? Total cost from you, assuming I drop it off and pick it up.
