I will be teaching an NRA Basic Pistol class today and can not make the shoot!

Another great match with a great turnout. I want to say 'thanks' for the emphasis on equipment and wear of equipment, 'cause it made me take notice of where i was wearing both my holster and mag pouches, and that's a good thing should I ever want to shoot outside the local match.

The Buffet Line ate my lunch, and emphasized to the max what I already thought I knew...I need to work to do something to improve what I'm paying attention to. I have some problems, and they don't revolve around draw time or transition time or splits or equipment or loads or anything else outside of that huge empty space between my ears that unfortunately fills up with crap that doesn't need to be there.

Here's just a sample of the symptoms that showed up for me...shot one target FOUR times, shot one non-threat TWO times, and shot the other no-threat THREE times. Think this is a problem with equipment?

This is a great little game, if only I could actually learn from it.

My personal thanks to all the SOs, our Match Director and everyone else that puts in so much time to make these matches happen, and to make them a fun, safe learning experience. That does read a little bit like a programmed statement, but it's a very sincere thank you. I think it's great when a stage causes you to review the rulebook again...I've learned one or two aspects of the rules about reloading on-the-move and moving out of cover with an non-loaded weapon that I've not even thought about. Sometimes keeping IPSC and IDPA rule nuances separate is tough for my simple brain.

    Nice match.
