Default Legalities on a 14 inch barrel

    Quick question...

Planning on having a 14 inch barrel on an AR15 build. I know legal length is 16. Could I have a 14 inch with a 2 inch muzzle break/etc threaded on without NFA paperwork? Or since it's a threaded barrel at only 14 without a muzzle device I must get papers? I hope that makes sense...

You have to have the muzzle break pinned or welded on. Just being able to unscrew it isn't good enough.

You want a 14.5 inch barrel and an appropriate FH or MB.

I just bought a Daniel Defense CHF 14.5" lightweight with a Surefire FH556212A pinned on.

A welded blind pin looks the best. If done right u wouldn't even be able to see it without very close inspection. Make sure u get the muzzle attachment u want though. As it's a pain to get them off and usually causes cosmetic damage to the attachment.
