    Default Extra firepower

So I carry everywhere I go. But I have been thinking latley; I carry a bug out bag in my truck why not carry a semi auto rifle as well. Now I would love to keep my M1a in there and my chest rig but I don't think I want to take the chance of it getting snatched. So I am thinking about throwing my SKS in my tool box in the bed along with a dozen or so stripper clips of ammo. What other surplus type rifles would you guys consider for a trunk gun and how would you pack it to keep it from rusting up on ya?

Personally, I wouldn't keep a firearm in my vehicle - too much of a chance that it would get stolen, eventually.

However, if a person were intent on keeping a rifle in their vehicle, I'd recommend putting it into a silicon impregnated gun sock and then puttling that into a plastic bag.

I was thinking the same thing. I just dont think I will put it in a plastic bag. I have never had water leak into the tool box. Even if my gun gets stolen out of my tool box it is just a SKS so it wont be a big loss. I really like my SKS's though so I was kinda thinking about using a Nagant. I would have to buy another type of ammo but those guns go for 80 at Aimsurplus.com

Nagant,, all around, cheap enough,, durable enough.. Plus if it does get stolen,, it'll be returned in two days.. Nobody in their right mind would shoot those things..

I have a 9" blade in my car, but I have a custom sheath that looks like a very large dildo. I'm not worried about anyone stealing it. I've been trying to work out something similar for a Sigma. I'll probably just wrap it in a Subway bag or something. No one wants a rotten old sandwich that you find in a car.

I'd keep the Nagant behind the seat. No rust and out of site, unlike a shiny toolbox full of tools. If it gets beat up, throw it away and buy another one next year. The muzzle flash alone will back up a whole herd of zombies. If you run out of ammo, it would work great as a bat too.
