Default Do you ever worry about:

People of the trades in your house possibly stealing things?
I am having blinds installed today and the guy is a stand up guy for sure, definitely does great work, but I have had some shady comcast or directv people also that I watched like a hawk.

I did lock up my tool box in the garage and made sure the guns are all secured.
All I have in this world is my balls and my word and I don't break em for no one.

I feel the same, people are low by nature. Whats the saying. "Locks keep honest people honest". I just had the head unit taken from the wifes SUV like two weeks ago, right out of the driveway. It's sad to say but there are hardly any honest people left in these times.

I always get a kick out of my fiance's mom (who is from El Salvador) hating on Mexicans (her husband was from Mexico). Our land lord was doing some repairs in our bathroom and she went on and on about how we should clear out our whole house because she thought the work crew would be Mexicans and would clear us out.

I work for Comcast in Greeley, so I am in peoples houses all day. Most people dont even know what you are doing or where you are at, they just sit on the couch and let you work. I have never been thrown out of a house but a couple guys I work worth have, customer just didnt like them. I did have an old lady send in a survey on me a few years ago saying she feared for her life and her valuables while I was there but never acted uncomfortable around me? She said I looked like a convict You should see some of the nasty houses we have to go in, believe me we try not to touch any more then we have to in most houses.

I noticed that to. My wife's sister married a Columbian. And he dogs Mexicans all the time and Mexican food.

Guess i'm an optimist and think that the majority of people are good, however i still have locks on everything! Also, forget service people, how about your friends, or kids friends. My parents always told me "don't bring your friends in the house or show them your valuables, they will steal them". I always thought they were paranoid and of course "none of my friends ever stole anything", or at least until I saw a "friend" steal something at another friends house. That is crazy and gives you the worst knots in your stomach, not to mention you lose your trust of EVERYONE!

When I was a kid, several of the neighbors got robbed, it turned out some neighborhood kids were telling mommy and daddy what everyone else on the block had at their house! The parents were running a little theft ring, and this wasn't in some scumbag neighborhood either, I would consider my family as upper-middle class. I don't recall the specifics about the bust, because I was a kid, but I do recall it was shear accident that they were busted.

Of course I tell my kids the same, however they don't have a clue. So, i lock everything up.

    Cheers,
    Tim

yeah but they can still snag little things. kind of like if you take your car to get detailed or worked on, or especially if it gets towed...things disappear.

I hate to worry too much but on the other hand I hate having thing taken from me as well.
