    Default Hi! New to forum.

This is my first firearm forum account. I'm excited to be able to partake in discussion about my interest in firearms that I've had for the last 2 years.
I ran across this site using Google searching for HK93 info. Just happens I live in the Denver metro area!
I have lived here for about 6 years. I moved from a fairly liberal state that doesn't look as kindly on guns.

I will definitely want to talk about local shooting events and shooting locations in the beautiful outdoors we have here. I have been to Left Hand Canyon and an area near Blackhawk casino. It's awsome one can go shooting outside without anyone looking over your shoulder! Though, it opens the door to people doing things like shooting glass and leaving it, destroying TVs poluting streams, etc.

I own 2 guns right now, but will get a 3rd this month. I have an HK USP 40 and a Smith & Wesson M&P15 AR-15.

The HK USP was my first and boy was I excited when I got it. I felt like a child again, of course retaining that adult sense of responsibility. I chose HK because I remember the USP in the Tom Clancy computer games I played many years ago. I chose .40 S&W because it "seemed" more substantial than 9mm and .40 ammo wasn't priced much higher.

Shortly after the handgun, I knew I needed a rifle. What better than America's rifle! The ammo is relatively cheap and talk about customizable. It’s the perfect platform for me to get introduced into weapon modification. I like the facts that the 5.56 is powerful, and the AR-15 has positive but low recoil. In comparison, my buddies 5.7x28mm AR has so little recoil it doesn’t seem like I am getting the whole experience.

For my next rifle I am very interested in HKs. I really like what I have read about HK93s and I can share ammo with the AR. An actual HK is priced to high for me at this point ($3000+). Century C93 is definitely affordable and I am seduced by its price. Since dependability is key for a gun, maybe a Vector V93 is the compromise.

I would like an AK-47. If I go that route I am going to build one. That is definitely in my future, but might be put on hold for those sweat looking 93s!

    Default Thoughts on the 2nd

I thought I would share my views on the 2nd while I'm at it.

I have no desire that my opinions are correct. I only desire that I adapt the correct opinions (as I see it, I guess).

Case in point, some of you may hate me for this, but here it goes. I grew up interested in guns, like most male kids, but I agreed with the idea that semi auto or greater were not needed by the public and had no issue with fairly strict gun control. This is due to growing up in an environment where people don't mind creating limitations for others on things they don't deem important.

Once I moved here I was exposed to the other side. I met my self expectation by listening to the other end of the argument with an open mind. My god, what madness is gun control. Not to mention unconstitutional, as I understand it. The argument that closed it for me was gun control mostly pulls guns out of the hands of the good guys. A criminal by definition doesn't obey laws. That's a no brainer. Tell us we can't carry, and watch what the criminals do.

I feel a stronger connection with my country's beginnings. Aren’t we all living a relatively good life off the sacrifice of a bunch of guerrilla rebels? Screw aristocracy, monarchy and tyranny. I believe in equal opportunity. I believe our founders were incredibly wise people. We had an opportunity with a new land, and access to guns, to create something truly amazing. Ya, it's not perfect, what is?

Civilian owned guns (not limited to sporting rifles) are instrumental in keeping us safe from tyranny. Study history, see what's happened before. See how tyranny forms and how victim unprepared people are. There are a plethora of famous quotes on this subject. Our founders knew this and made it apparent (2nd amendment). Why do so many not realize it today? Or do they? Watch out for the ones playing dumb, you can guess what their intentions are.

Anyway, any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Welcome to the forum.

Now that you have been exposed, it looks like you are learning.
