    Repost police.. sheesh.
What is my joy if all hands, even the unclean, can reach into it? What is my wisdom, if even the fools can dictate to me? What is my freedom, if all creatures, even the botched and impotent, are my masters? What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to obey?

I checked it out last night, decent place. They're breaking ground on the new structure next week and expect 6-9 months for it to be completed.

I think I'm going to join.

I stopped by there last week for a few minutes just to eyeball the place. The lady at the counter mentioned the new range being built soon next door. Nice retail space. The facility is clean and new, and doesn't look anything like the The Firing Line, The Shootist, or Silver Bullet. The prices are a bit north of those establishments as well. Start up costs for this type of business must be outrageous.

The insurance + lead testing for all employees every 6 months? Air filtration systems, spent lead disposal, bullet back stops, dust / air handlers down range, insurance, insurance, insurance. All adds up real quick.
This is why indoor ranges operate like health clubs, pay up front and or monthly automatic withdrawal from your bank account. Shooting or not they get paid on time, every time.

Straying off topic a bit. I have been away from Glock handguns for a while now, but when did they start making them in the United States?

I think that is why Byte moved to Georgia. Don't you remember him being a Glock fanboy

When I checked into them, 8 months ago or so, you could go 1 time on the hourly rate and then had to become a member to use the range again. At least that's what I was told.

I've been to CGC a few times now. Staff is friendly and helpful, and the range has great ventilation. Probably not the cheapest place in town, but I enjoy the cleanliness and overall atmosphere. The range master has always been very friendly, and taking plenty of time to answer all my stupid questions.

Thanks for pointing these things out. It gave me real pause to think. I was amazed at how much they're asking for membership, initial fee, monthly... but yeah, I can imagine a new building with all those things must cost a bunch and the up-keep. I know they were also trying for that "country club" feel too and not just a place to shoot...

Wife wants us to join. I'm not sure. I'm not real big on "Target" shooting. Prefer more action like IPSC and 3 gun...
