    It is Jefferson County. I've called them and spent a few minutes sifting through all the different menus and listening to minutes long recordings. It sounds like what I need to do is just go down there in person and ask to see records. I really only need a photo copy of the records. I wish they'd make it easier to speak with an actual person though.

    Jefferson county is one of the toughest to work with and all they will give you is photo copies if they have the original documents. Otherwise they'll give you a print out of the case summary.

    Have you tried, 303-271-8186? Thats the number I have for them but its not a direct line. My book says Press 1 then Press 0 and you should be able to get to someone.

    That number just kicked me back into the main menu, but I listened closer this time and found the name change department. I've spoken to two live people now. Thanks for the help refryguy.

    Cool, looks like they found the documents and I just need to go down there and pay for a copy. $20 to prove myself. yay.

    Just got back from the court house. Got the docs and sent them into Adams County. Thanks for the help everyone.
