Wow, what a long travel this thread has taken from this morning. Arguing that a law like this will be abused at some time is like saying the sky will be blue sometime, of course it's gonna happen so stop repeating it

Mexico welcomes only foreigners who will be useful to Mexican society:

•Foreigners are admitted into Mexico "according to their possibilities of contributing to national progress." (Article 32)

Immigration officials must "ensure" that "immigrants will be useful elements for the country and that they have the necessary funds for their sustenance" and for their dependents. (Article 34)

•Foreigners may be barred from the country if their presence upsets "the equilibrium of the national demographics," when foreigners are deemed detrimental to "economic or national interests," when they do not behave like good citizens in their own country, when they have broken Mexican laws, and when "they are not found to be physically or mentally healthy." (Article 37)

•The Secretary of Governance may "suspend or prohibit the admission of foreigners when he determines it to be in the national interest." (Article 38)

Mexican authorities must keep track of every single person in the country:

•Federal, local and municipal police must cooperate with federal immigration authorities upon request, i.e., to assist in the arrests of illegal immigrants. (Article 73)

•A National Population Registry keeps track of "every single individual who comprises the population of the country," and verifies each individual's identity. (Articles 85 and 86)

•A national Catalog of Foreigners tracks foreign tourists and immigrants (Article 87), and assigns each individual with a unique tracking number (Article 91).

Foreigners with fake papers, or who enter the country under false pretenses, may be imprisoned:

•Foreigners with fake immigration papers may be fined or imprisoned. (Article 116)

•Foreigners who sign government documents "with a signature that is false or different from that which he normally uses" are subject to fine and imprisonment. (Article 116)

Foreigners who fail to obey the rules will be fined, deported, and/or imprisoned as felons:

•Foreigners who fail to obey a deportation order are to be punished. (Article 117)

•Foreigners who are deported from Mexico and attempt to re-enter the country without authorization can be imprisoned for up to 10 years. (Article 118)

•Foreigners who violate the terms of their visa may be sentenced to up to six years in prison (Articles 119, 120 and 121). Foreigners who misrepresent the terms of their visa while in Mexico -- such as working with out a permit -- can also be imprisoned.

Under Mexican law, illegal immigration is a felony. The General Law on Population says,

•"A penalty of up to two years in prison and a fine of three hundred to five thousand pesos will be imposed on the foreigner who enters the country illegally." (Article 123)

•Foreigners with legal immigration problems may be deported from Mexico instead of being imprisoned. (Article 125)

•Foreigners who "attempt against national sovereignty or security" will be deported. (Article 126)

Mexicans who help illegal aliens enter the country are themselves considered criminals under the law:

•A Mexican who marries a foreigner with the sole objective of helping the foreigner live in the country is subject to up to five years in prison. (Article 127)

•Shipping and airline companies that bring undocumented foreigners into Mexico will be fined. (Article 132)
But they have a problem when we don't want their folks streaming uncontrolled across our borders. Hm. Maybe we should IGNORE the Mexican Government's crap along with Maobama and his camp's and do what we need to!

News flash. Not being white isn't illegal. Thank God you're not a cop.

EDIT: Further, nothing you keep ranting about has anything to do with being legal or not.

I'd like to see you back up even ONE of your other claims of every illegal being a rapist, and how anyone that looks Mexican standing in a line in front of you is illegal. Your attitude needs a serious over haul.

Sorry if this was already said, but what it comes down to is, only the guilty should be fighting this. Those of us who are citizens or have a legal work visa/greencard should have nothing to worry about. If I were stopped and questioned (mid 20's, white, male), I would be happy to see that something was being done to fix some of our immigration issues. Its just another way of security screening. my .02

"

Even looking like you're in a gang doesn't matter if you AREN'T in a gang. Plus, looks are subjective. I doubt white bread Sniper knows shit about gangs or has any experience with them.

This stuff only draws attention from racists. Half the shit he mentioned (like small wheels, dressing a certain way, and Nike Swooshes) aren't even specifically a Mexican thing. Should we kick all the black people out of the country while we're at it Sniper? Just because you don't like the way they dress or their music? Is a different culture threatening to shatter your sheltered little world? I'm surprised you even tinted the windows on your truck, lest you look like some beaner.

first off the correct word is affects, not effects.
I didn't say anything about affecting society. they can do as they please and who am I to stop them. I was making the point, and a valid one that their actions within the American society will draw attention to them. Just like the emo or goth kids at the schools I sub at. Some of them are the greatest kids in the world but their looks and actions bring a lot of attention to them, most people look at a goth kid and instantly think Columbine...

I am not saying it is right, but when they draw that attention to themselves, cops are going to have different individual perspectives and each one may handle it differently. When I am behind a pickup truck with golf cart tires and a big Chihuahua sticker (not the dog), I am led to believe more than likely they are from Mexico...call that racist if you like, I call it being observant.

You seems to always like to think you truly KNOW something about people. you honestly don't know jack shit about me. I have been around gangs, I went to school with gang members, I indirectly work with gang members as well in atlanta. I have been propositioned 3 different times at hotels while in atlanta by pimps offering their services.

I also work with a ton of black people, some of them are absolutely awesome, others I just tolerate. same with white people, mexicans, the indians I talk with when I call dell etc. etc. just like everyone else.

I never said I didn't like the way they dressed or how they looked. I don't like golf cart tires on a truck because it ruins the point of a truck, but that is my opinion which I am entitled to have.

maybe you are living in the sheltered world...maybe it is you who is racist?
until you actually know something about ME, I wouldn't throw personal insults my way because you obviously know jack shit about me. you haven't even met me, why don't you go talk with the 50+ guys on here I have met and dealt with, then when you get their perspective of me you can come back and kiss my ass.

I'll call any one of you out for being a racist, just like I did Sniper.

Thinking that small wire wheels = illegal Mexican =

This thread isn't even about illegals anymore, it's about hating Mexicans.

"It's about time Arizona did something about those illegals, I've always hated low riders." Give me a break.

I like how most of you seem to have forgotten that I fully support this bill as well. What I DON'T support is open racism and abuse of citizens by law enforcement (as I've posted on the other thread).

Or maybe I'm full of shit and none of the legal immigrants in this country go to Wal-mart or the DMV. Maybe after they get their legal status they all die their skin white, grow 5", and trade in their Shakira CD's for Alan Jackson. That must be it.
    its dye, not die....

you have totally lost it....maybe you have been hitting the bottle or maybe it is something more. I don't care if you support the bill or not. spouting bullshit like this is uncalled for, calling people racist over the internet is childish at best.

as to small wire wheels = illegal mexican, I would put cold hard cash that those small wire wheels = 90%+ hispanic drivers. as to the illegal factor, I couldn't tell you that because you can't tell who is legal and who isn't...which is the entire point of THE FUCKING LAW that just passed in AZ. now the cops, if they have reasonable suspicion that anyone is breaking the law, they can actually check the person. no racial profiling will be tolerated...it is in the bill. maybe you should take a break and actually read it instead of spouting your mouth off and causing yourself more trouble.

If I were you I would be taking a chill pill for the evening, you can write me out an apology thread tomorrow.

This fact was NOT wasted on me. This is why I don't have a problem with it at all and actually endorse this law.

If the legal Latino community is so worried about getting harassed for "being brown", perhaps they should have been considerably more proactive to control the flow of illegals into the nation when they had a chance instead of encouraging it by their excessive pro-Latina, fly their Mexican flag attitudes. What are these folks protesting? Is it that they really hoped that the U.S. and all of the states would just throw open the borders and lay down as we were over-run by Mexican nationals? They are upset because AZ wants to ENFORCE the law? So, by this mentality, should they be robbed beaten and raped at gunpoint, they just want the police to look the other way. Or maybe, just look the other way if it is a Mexican national committing the crime?

It is absolutely amazing to me that you some of you guys think I'm talking about the law that just passed. I've got no problem with the law. I have a problem with people being racist.

Sniper, when I get cornered when I'm wrong, I try to change the subject by pointing out things irrelevant to the subject too. This thread is chalk full of racism. You don't hate Mexican's because you work with black people and got propositioned by a pimp?

What should I get a free pass for because I once volunteered to Habitat for Humanity and get 5 different phone solicitor calls every day?

I'll remember how it is entirely my fault the next time Westboro Baptist Church protests at a funeral because I'm white and I should have stopped them.

Hey guys, I also want to apologize for this guy. I never meant to let him throw his baby out the window of his car. I'm white, I should have known better.
