    Default Tuxedo birds

Magpies are a nuisance and I need to get rid of some.
I live in a residential area next to the national forest, so, can't use a 22.

I need some kind of pellet pistol, but don't know anything about them.
One requirement, in the words of the great hunter Elmer Fudd, it must be
    Vewy, Vewy Quiet.

    Any suggestions?

What about snake/bird shot for your 22.

magpies are a federally protected bird, there was a mayor or somebody prosecuted for shooting magpies a few years back. and if you are in a residential area that prohibits shooting a 22, it probably prohibits pellet guns and slingshots too. most towns and cities prohibit projectiles of any kind.
i personally like magpies, i put carcasses out for coyote bait and get lots of magpies. they dont make noise around my house, maybe somebody shot all the noisy ones.

Magpies are smart. With a few gone the rest will stay away.

Can you throw rocks at them? Or get a cat?

I shoot protected birds all the time (woodpeckers) with an airsoft rifle. It doesn't hurt them much but they know it hurts a little to peck on our house. It's funny to watch. Since they are territorial the same birds are here year after year. They will peck on all of our neighbors houses but won't touch ours

Maybe an extra-powerful Super Soaker squirtgun? Filled with something unpleasant, like ammonia?
