Default Bomb scare in Times Square

So we just got home and turned the TV on to hear breaking news about a bomb scare in Times Square in New York.

They interviewed the police and the mayor and they went on and on about how everyone is safe because New York has the best police force in the US, and without their intervention, this could have been a "deadly event."

Apparently, what happened was a vendor on the street noticed smoke coming out of a green Nissan Pathfinder, notified a mounted cop. Cop checked out the vehicle, then called the bomb squad. Everything went on lock down and bomb squad found three propane tanks, a gas can, fireworks, a black gun locker, electrical wire, and two clocks.

I don't know, but they are making a REALLY big deal out of this, and it sounds like they found the vehicle of someone going on a camping trip to me.

I'm sorry, but if it had been a REAL bomb, they wouldn't have had any notice that the thing was there and would never have had time to evacuate.

I actually considered that too. I think it was either a very ellaborate prank, or a dry/reaction test run.
